On February 11, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science was celebrated, a day which seeks to promote their equitable participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
In this context, the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) of the Federico Santa María Technical University, in conjunction with ANID’s Linkage and Extension Unit, celebrated its undergraduate and graduate students, as well as its researchers, Dr. Sandra Céspedes, Dr. Margarita Norambuena, and Dr. Pamela Guevara.
In particular, Professor Guevara noted the great motivation that being a scientist implies, all the satisfactions that it brings and the importance of creativity and perseverance. “I hope that society evolves more and more, to the point where a science career for women is not questioned. We are incredibly capable, there are many examples of this. Science allows us to contribute a grain of sand to understand and improve the world around us”.
